Below is a review of three pants I tried. Prois is my new go to pant for hunting, travel, and an all-around active adventurous lifestyle. I wear these pants everywhere and will definitely be purchasing more. I highly recommend Prois pants. I found all their fabrics to be silent enough in the field. I hope Prois adds a second cargo pocket on the left leg of all their pants in the future. Would also love to try the Solas Pursuit Pant for hot weather if it comes in a solid color in the future.
To help fellow ladies trying to figure out sizing... My current measurements are: 5’8” tall. Chest=36”, waist=29”, hips=39.5”. Thigh circumference at largest part=22”. Inseam =32.5”. Weight 135lbs. Approximate Body Fat Percentage= 26.5%. 39 yrs old.
-Tintri Pursuit Pant. Ordered an 8 Tall in Granite. Love the solid grey color so I can wear these for both hunting and other adventures. Nice warm weather pant. I wear this when the forecast is above 40 deg Fahrenheit for a high. Was the first time I’ve ever had articulating knees actually be at my knees and not at my thighs because they are too short. Huge kudos for that. Waist is comfortable and truly midrise on taller women. Waist is forgiving and fits my waist well without causing muffin top and I do not need a belt as long as I have the pockets zipped up as this tightens the hips up a bit. I have enough room in these that I may try ordering a size 6 in these in the future just to see if it is too small and to size compare, but the size 8 looks and feels great without being too tight or loose. I love that all the pockets zip up, so I don’t lose anything. The cargo pocket is a great size on the side of the thigh and fits my S21 phone with commuter case with plenty of room to spare. These pants had the most practical pockets of all the pants I tried. The zipper colors match the pants well, so they don’t look out of place. I would love to see a second cargo pocket on the left thigh. These pants have excellent stretch when hiking/climbing. I live in Phoenix and most of my hunting is in Arizona. They hold up decently on sharp rocks and in thorny brush. I had some strings pull when I was pushing through some AZ desert catclaw plant. This is to be expected in all pants with some breathability. They did not rip or shred on the thorns which was great. I have found after multiple washings and wear that the stitching could be better enforced on both the seams and at the pocket zipper ends that connect the zippers to the pant, but it is great quality at this price point. I am waiting to see if the next model of these pants comes with a second cargo pocket on the left thigh and plan to order more pairs then. Since I live in a warm climate, if I were to order just one pant, it would be this one.
-Alta All Seasons Pant. Ordered 6 Tall in Granite. Love the solid grey color. Nice medium cold weather pant. The articulating knees were in the correct spot on these as well. Waist is very forgiving and true mid-rise. Was glad I ordered a size down as the waist is larger than on the Tintri Pursuit. Seems designed so you can layer thermals underneath which is nice. The side pocket is large enough to fit an S21 phone with a commuter case, but not too much else. I would personally like this pocket to be just a bit larger but it did work great for my phone. Like all the other pants, I think it needs a second cargo pocket on the left thigh. These pants are wonderfully buttery soft and I found them plenty warm in 20-deg Fahrenheit Colorado weather without thermals underneath. I have not yet tried them in colder weather than 20 degrees. I wear these pants when the forecast is below 40 deg Fahrenheit for a high. The cargo pocket zipper matches the pants well, so I can wear these as a hunting/adventure pant, to a meeting, or restaurant when traveling.
-Tintri Freedom-fit pant. Ordered 6 tall in Granite. Love the solid grey color. Nice design, but this pant was just too large for me. Even if I ordered a smaller size the legs would be too baggy on me personally. The cargo pocket is situated so whatever is in it sits on the front of my thigh. I put my phone it in and found it incredibly irritating. Every time I took a step it would rub the contents of the pocket on the top of my thigh. I returned these.
-A side note to Prois: You’d be my hero if you make the first comfortable pickpocket proof travel adventure pant with silent, no wrinkle material (possibly with non-synthetic fibers so it naturally doesn’t hold odor). Add secret pockets for things like a passport, emergency cash, ID, feminine products, and maybe even a little travel makeup. That is first designed to be capable in extreme conditions, but with style that blends into its surroundings in a crowd, meeting, or restaurant setting. A pant line to make it easy for adventurous women to move freely, travel safely, and go after whatever experience calls them at any moment.
