Durable but too noisy when archery hunting
As a hunter that enjoys the wee morning hour walk in, I frequently encounter wet vegetation, often waist to shoulder height while walking. Usually by the time I reach my glassing point I am soaked through. I was very hopeful with this set. The fit is wonderful, not pulling at the waist or knees when high stepping or walking uphill. Adjustable waist and side zippers are a dream. They cut the wind and shed grime as well as sticker bushes well. Unfortunately where they fell down was walking through wet vegetation. Within a few minutes my seams had wet through and I could feel my legs getting wet. Investigation revealed taped seam failure on each knee. I wasn’t in a downpour so I’m not able to comment on the shoulder seam of the coat, but the arms didn’t wet through, so perhaps these weren’t completely sealed. Though it would add bulk and weight, I would suggest a fully heat bonded knee patch over the outer seams to make these bomber
These pants are great alone or over my brush pants! The side zippers make them super easy to get on and off. Very very happy with this purchase. I ordered a size up based on reviews but had to go back to normal sizing. 5’7”, 127lbs. Size M works
I recently tested out the Dionla rain gear for my elk hunt in Western Washington. I have hunted for years in very inclement weather and have always utilized the upper end men’s systems because i simply had not found anything even remotely adequate for women. The Prois Dionla rain coat and pants performed better than i ever anticipated. They kept me dry in torrential downpours, they dried out quickly, and they kept me insulated in the cold. Even more impressive was how quiet they were. And the icing on the cake… the fit was amazing because they are actually made for women!
I really like these pants. They fit over my softshell pants well and I like that I can open them for vents. My last pair of rain gear seemed to still allow water to seep in a bit. These are comfortable and quiet. I love the fit of the jacket too, but my only complaint there are the lack of pit zips. It gets hot hiking in the rain and to be able to adjust for temperature is key.
