Of course, only heed these instructions if you want your gear to last. Otherwise...go nuts.
Prois went 99 yards with this hat but couldn’t score the touchdown. The potential is there just needs a little improvement. Like some of the other reviewers, I found the hat to be short so I was constantly pulling it down to keep my ears warm, and every time I turned my head the hat seemed to move 1/4” up my head so before long it’s falling off. In addition to making it longer to cover my ears, some sort of fabric needs to be on the inside to keep it from shifting up every time you move. My hair is down to my waist and I typically wear 2 braids when hunting and would love to have material overlapping holes for braids and a ponytail. That would help keep the hat in place too.
Tried the hat on in very cold temps. It was super warm but short, would fall off when I moved my head around.
Warm but needs some improvements. 1. It's noisy because of the material. If you move your head at all the hat is loud! A think cloth or fleece lining would fix this and increase the warmth even more. 2. It doesnt stay on...it's silky material...it slides up if you move your head at all. If it was a little roomier at the top and had more of a defined cuff at the bottom it would help it stay put. Lastly...a pony tail hole would be perfect like an overlapping opening towards the base so if you needed it you could use it...if not then it would be covered and warm. I got this during a holiday sale and it was 50% off...I would have been pretty disappointed had I paid full price. I love some of the other products and so I had higher expectations for this.
This beanie is warm but it doesnt stay in place well if you're moving at all or if you need to turn your head. The material is noisy when you move too. I like the idea but it needs some tweaks to really be worth it. It doesn't stay down over my ears well without coming down too far over my forehead...almost to your eyes! If it was a little roomier and had a place for a pony tail and possibly a fleece lining this would be the best beanie...hands down.
We battle the cold and the WIND out here on the high plains. Been looking for a hat that keeps me warm and this fits the bill!
