Recently partnering with the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), Prois Hunting Apparel recently attended the POMA Annual Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The event was fun and informative. What a great place to meet up with old friends Andy Lightbody, Kat Matoon, Jim Zumbo, Tom Opre, Barb Baird, Linda Powell, Stephanie Mallory and Bill Konway. We also forged some great new friendships, and I must say, I have never laughed so hard as I did at Laurie Lee Dovey’s theatrics describing her rather infamous turkey hunt. Following that story, I took away this tip- never drink 24 oz of Mountain Dew before the hunt. Despite the lighthearted and laid-back nature of the group, I was impressed by the talent surrounding us. Writers, spokespersons and television personalities I have long admired were quick to introduce themselves and make us comfortable. We are excited to team-up with POMA and look forward to a great partnership.

Teri has most definitely earned bragging rights. She introduced herself to us at Prois through her amazing (and might I add HUMOROUS) story of her 2008 Grand Slam. Bagging Rio Grande, Merriam, Osceola and Eastern gobblers in North Florida, Nebraska and New York leaves Teri breathless for more. Teri shares, “I am truly blessed to have been able to achieve the Grand Slam, not only in the same season and because I am a girl, but also because I was able to share it with my best friend, my husband. I am thankful to him for sharing his great love of the outdoors and taking the patience to teach me and letting me tag along with him. I know not what the future holds, I only know that from now on, when the gobbles gobble, we will follow! Oh, not to mention the deer as well! Happy Hunting!”.
Stats on Teri’s Birds:
RioGrande: 9 3/4″ beard and 1″ spurs
Merriam: 10″ beard and 1″ spurs
Osceola: 8 1/2 ” beard and 3/4″ spurs
Eaastern: 9 1/2 ” beard and 1″ spurs
